.Janeva Shahi recipient of the Rotary Club of Tsawwassen scholarship for her academic and service achievements. Her next stop is McGill where will be studying health services and humanities with her goal of finding a place in humanitarian work at the UN
.Jade Ridgewell also received a Rotary club of Tsawwassen scholarship for her success as a scholar and an athlete. She also received a scholarship from Trinity Western where she will be playing for the varsity hockey team

ClubRunner Update               Past President  Keith
ClubRunner is our website and data base that stores all manner of information about individual members and groups. It includes various records  such as club goals and board meeting minutes. The site is undergoing some changes that at this point are mainly cosmetic ones. Although the look is different much of the presentation from the administrative section has not changed.

The District and International web sites are also undergoing changes. By familiarizing ourselves with these sites we can learn much about Rotary and interact with them such as registering for the upcoming conference.
Keith indicated that at a future time he intends to present a full review of the benefits that can accrue form being thoroughly versed in the websites making ourselves more informed Rotarians.

Peace Day Planning        Jill Moore
As with many of our activities the Peace Day commemoration will be a virtual event. The committee is in the process of creating a dynamic video with messages from a number of locals and celebrities including the co-presidents of the Interact club and various dignitaries including Carla Qualtrough MP, Ian Paton MLA, a First Nations member and President Laureen.

Jill announced that the event will also announce our club's selection of the Peacebuilder Award. John A is writing up an description of the award for the local newspaper and John C. is doing the same for Facebook. Thank you to the rest of the members of the planning committee for their work; Liz Ellis, Peter Edwards, Graham Mallett and Greg Muirhead

Project Amigo             Murray Lott
Our club has given board approval to support two students about to move into junior high school in a rural area of Mexico. Murray introduced Camillo and Rosa the twelve year olds who are being supported and gave a bit information about their family backgrounds. Both of them were selected for good academic grades and their participation in the tutoring and homework clubs. The $750 per year deals with fees, uniforms and a food package supplement for their family. For these two young people this is indeed a life-changing opportunity for them as well as their families. We can expect to receive letters from them throughout the year . When the travel ban is lifted Murray looks forward to a return visit to the area.
