The meeting began with Cindy Phillip leading the live singing of O Canada while Wayne Connorton delivered an impromtu invocation that called on us to provide help both here and to do what we can to assist those in Eastern Europe.

The hybrid meeting took on a new zoom system on loan and manned by Garry Shearer. It improved the sound to the Zoomers and allowed the in person participants to avoid holding a mike.

Programme....
Peace Conversation II
Rotary and Truth & Reconciliation
Moving Forward

John Anderson through the power of Zoom introduced the programme from his lake cabin in the Nelson area. After welcoming the facilitators he reviewed the ground rules for the conversation process:
Open mind
Reflection
Acceptance
Curiosity
Discovery
Authenticity
Generosity
Levity

Keith then broke the meeting into five "rooms" that facilitated the discussion of the Truth and Reconciliation process. The deliberations then proceeded to consider:
.Rotary's role in Truth and Reconciliation
   .Our Club's responsibility
   .Improving the relationship with TFN
   .The future of Canada Day
   .Practical Suggestions

Some of the reported findings included:
- Rotary does have a role in furthering T&R
- we should continue to develop our relationship with first Nations
- children to be taught a more complete history of Canada
- recognition that our community is divided on the issue
- T&R is complex: more learning needed
- Canada Day should be enhanced rather than diminished
- important to educate ourselves in the Calls for Action
- recognize that racism is not new and is widespread
- work needed on bridging traditions with our expectations

John concluded by thanking the members for their active participation in the discussion and explained that our findings will be forwarded on to the district. Hopefully,  we can form a group within our club to create a plan to keep the topic moving forward. President Greg thanked the facilitators for their help and to John for taking the leadership today and in the district's Peace Conversations.

Sergeant at Arms .

At Beethoven's grave in Vienna a drunk heard a sound coming from the area. Frightened, he called a priest who heard music coming from the grave. He heard Beethoven's Ninth Symphony being played backwards. He listened a while longer and said "there's the eight symphony and it's backwards too". He kept listening; "there's the seventh...the sixth .. all backwards". Suddenly he realized what was happening and announced to the growing crowd that had gathered:
"There's nothing to worry about, folks. Its just Beethoven decomposing!"
