Programme

Yvonne Anderson
Wife, Mom, Adventurer, Philanthropist, CEO

Dave Anderson introduced his wife as the CEO of Santevia Water Systems. Presently she is transitioning the enterprise to move onshore, establishing a modern management system as well as meeting the challenges faced by  Covid. She is also modernizing her corporate giving programme , serves as chair on the Delta Chamber of Commerce and plays a large part in her church. Currently, Yvonne is mentoring a number of women both young and old in their entrepreneurship ventures.

Yvonne in her Zoom presentation made use of a vast array of photos describing her life which began in Brantford ON, also the home of Alexander Graham Bell and Wayne Gretzky whom she went to school with (Wayne, not A.G.) The early years were good ones including summers at the cottage, fishing and hunting, all manner of sports, playing the accordion and even driving in the local soap box derby.
She studied at the University of Western Ontario and Royal Roads before arriving in Vancouver at the age of 22  where she met up with a guy with a pony tail and a Harley. They joined their families together which now includes all manner of in-laws, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. As family is important to her, their home has been designed to accommodate large groups.

Santevia has become a big part of hers and her family's lives. Originally the company was set up to create mineralized alkaline water to assist those afflicted with acid reflux. As well as taking on the challenge of building a business it was  created to support a philanthropic endeavour in Thailand. The business is expanding and being brought on-shore while keeping everyone in the family involved. Her daughter Christina is currently on a Women in Business scholarship and her son Mathew takes care of the digital and sales component of the enterprise.

Much of Yvonne's time and energy is devoted to Santevia's social mission that includes:
.sponsoring orphanages in Thailand to help young girls avoid the sex-trade
.creating a school in the slums of Bangladesh
.teaching English to mothers and single women in  Dhaka
.emphasizing  the importance of water with the 100 day countdown

Along with the company and the philanthropy Yvonne takes the time for the fun that is offered in our province including skiing, snowshoeing and hiking in Whistler, ocean kayaking and biking in and around town even with her dog in tow. She is also involved throughout the community through her church and the Chamber of Commerce as Chairperson of the board. As an ambassador in the Toastmasters club she is serving as our liaison as Rotary prepares to connect with it.

Yvonne appreciates the welcome she received upon joining and looks forward to continuing her philanthropic work through the club. Ginny Lowood thanked her for the delivery of an informative, well-organized talk, the first ever Zoom member presentation.
