Laura Dixon Laura as vice chair of the School Board, Delta's largest employer with 3000 employees is taking care of the needs of over 16,000 students. Maintaining education in these circumstances is indeed an intimidating task with all types of planning meetings being held virtually while the actual learning taking place at home. In addition the teachers, who are key to the success, have had to take into account the usual challenges of inclusion, assisted learning, ESL and mental health . Importantly, they have maintained connection with students some in highly unusual ways by parading through the neighborhoods and chalking math questions on the driveways. The school board has chipped in with the loan of 4000 laptops. Laura concluded by reading parents' notes of appreciation. 2001 District Conference Blake Cowan Featuring himself in front of the conference's promotional poster Blake extolled the "opportunity of a lifetime" to be had at the event being held at next year's May long weekend.
