Announcments
The second ever Tsawwassen Rotary Club virtual meeting was opened by a recorded version of club singers belting out O Canada over a series of Canadian scenic photos.
Blake Cowan then delivered the invocation commenting on being thankful for living in a safe country during these strange times and also appreciating the health care workers for their service.

President Gail thanked all for pitching in and keeping things moving forward . She recognizes that this takes the patience and toleration of everyone being kind to one another. This situation appears to be going on much longer that we expected and could possibly continue this way right through to the end of the Rotary year. Because of John C's exceptional energy and creativity she was able to comment on several meetings:

Board Meeting  held April 8 Ginny Lowood will be posting the minutes in short order and they will be available to all . We all have time to read them.

Speakers Committee Meeting Monday April 12 6:00 PM. Mark Chartrand and the committee will be working on lining up speakers for future meetings. This situation opens up possibilities for us to bring in some outstanding presenters both from inside and outside the Rotary world. Next week's meeting will feature club member, Garry Shearer Executive Director of the Delta Chamber of Commerce who will be describing his other life.

Zoom in for Coffee will continue on Monday Morning at 10:00 AM . Last week's event was made memorable as it offered club members the opportunity to pass on personal greetings to ailing member Gerry vanGaalen who was absolutely overwhelmed by the club members' thoughtfulness.
This week the coffee hour will be joined by Margaret Page of Toast Masters International who will be giving tips on Zoom usage.

A Zoom licence has now been purchased (on John C's credit card) and, while making us more professional??, it means that we can only conduct one meeting at a time and that in turn means booking the time with Ginny beforehand.

Now that we are better versed in this new communication device we are now free to invite guests to join in to our meetings

Special Occasions:
No Anniversaries
Birthdays:
Diane Forward April 10
Judy McLeod April 11

Special Drive-by   Tom Smith
Tom outlined the plans for the drive-by to Gerry's and Claire Anderson's homes on Saturday evening. Cars are to reconnoiter at the Beach Grove Golf Course parking lot at 6:45 pm and drive by his house before heading out to the Pebble Hill area to John A's home. Balloons and signs will add to the atmosphere.

Rotary Webinars           Past President Keith
The Rotary Planning for Change Webinar to take place on Thursday is unfortunately full with 100 participants allowed by the platform. There is still space for members to sign up for Saturday's session on the district web site. Then after a two week break there will be a resumption of sessions.

Rotary Water Park  Project     Peter Dandyk
Peter described the next phase of the park development, the creation of screen shades . By making some adjustments  including the elimination of some trees and moving the location we will be able to create a 50% increase in the size of the shaded area. Planning for this project is probably the only one thing going forward at this time.

International News Update   Liz Ellis
. After originally thinking that things were OK at Project Amigo the latest email indicates that it has been forced to shut down.
. Our other project, Tekera, is faring better but casual workers have been laid off.
. The application for our global grant is still in place but our container shipments are on hold

Odds and Sods          President Gail:
.  is trying with limited success to contact past presidents for a summary of their time
.  hopes that Bob Cooke and the member's committee can hold a meeting with our new members
.  thanked Leslie and Rick Lewall for providing the flowers for Claire and Gerry

This road sign, a brainchild of John C and Leslie was produced by Graeme and Alex .
Good show everybody. Imagine what can be accomplished in only four days!
