Announcemnts
The meeting was started by Linda Ding who presented an older version of O Canada (included "all thy sons command") but the sound worked!
 
Rick Lewall delivered the invocation that included:

Jako's wife, Darlene suffered a biking mishap that left her with a broken collarbone. Honourary member Jim Northey is recovering from surgery.
 
International Committee Yvonne Anderson
We are exploring the involvement of our club in the WASH programme which facilitates the delivery of drinking water in Uganda. This is an amazing opportunity to take a major, long term project. More discussion to come as we move into this

Yvonne Anderson to announce the Chamber of Commerce's sponsoring of the election forum on Sept 14 that will also be covered on Delta Cablevision

Chennai and Tekera
 
Chennai: Our Sister Club
We were pleased to have President Sumir Saproo of our sister club of Chennai India join us for the meeting. He was presented with our club's support of of $1200 for the pandemic support. This was augmented by an additional $1000 from the individual member donations. President  Sumir who was joining our breakfast meeting in the middle of the nightexpressed how lucky he felt to be in contact with a club such as ours. the past four weeks have been extremely difficult but thanks to the help and words of others. The financial support has gone to the needy who are most thankful for our generosity.
 
Tekera:
Liz Ellis our club's international chairperson introduced Daniel, the operations manager and Moreen, the field director who presented a video that demonstrated the self-sufficient status of the Tekera Resource Centre.

To David Anderson for not tuning in to start the invocation on time and providing us with an insight into his domestic life .
 
Benno ended the meeting with a limerick:
 
"Tom's grandkids gave us a smile
David's invocation began after a while
Greg gave us a quick SWOT analysis
Hope it doesn't cause speech paralysis
But the plan will take us over the next mile"
