Soapbox Derby

Come one, come all to Rotary Club of Tsawwassen's Soap Box Derby put on with our partner The Corporation of Delta Saturday, June the 4th. Riders ages 9 to 12 will race down 6th Avenue three times to find out who's the fastest, and be crowned the 2016 Soap Box Champion. Sponsors are responsible for building the carts, but the mechanisms and plywood are provided. Participants
On Saturday, May 28th Rotary Tsawwassen will be hosting a Trail Run on Eden Crescent between 9am - 12pm. Bring your carts, have them inspected by our sponsors Tsawwassen Collision and Werner’s Auto Klinik, given the "sticker of approval", meet the other drivers, and race down the hill. 
 
Spectators
Feel free to sit or stand along 6th avenue between MIlsom Wynd and 52nd avenue to watch Delta's fastest Soap Box Derby Participants. 
 
Builders
Once entry fee is paid, you'll be given a ticket to provide to the Tsawwassen Rona. In return, Rona will give you the mechanisms and plywood necessary to build your cart. Directions and patterns are included in the kit.
 
Route
Racers will speed down 6th Avenue between Milsom Wynd and 52nd Avenue to see who will be crowned the 2016 Soap Box Derby Champion. Each racer will be given 3 runs down the track. The best 2 times will be recorded, and the top 3 carts will have a final run down to crown 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. 
 
Prizes
Each participant will receive a Medal for entering the race. Trophies will be given to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, and to the top three spectators choice for the best decorated carts.
